Jamie xx – In Colour
Benjamin Clementine – At Least For Now
Ghostpoet – Shedding Skin

Ha ha.

If you've never heard of Gaz Coombes, Jamie XX, Ghostpoet, Florence and..., Roisin Murphy or Aphex Twin (if you like them or not) then you are a fucking spastic who probably does not own a radio.

Surprised Everything Everyting didn't make it. I can only comment on the Ghost Poet album which is great and the Wolf Alice album which is good but surprising to see has made this list. The Mercury Prize is a bit of a joke though but I suppose gives exposure to some decent music to a wider audience.

Didn't see Ghostpoet in there, I like his stuff as well.

It will be a travesty if Florence wins but only because this is probably the worst record she's made so far.

Re: 2015 Mercury Prize
Only heard the top two. Been meaning to check out that Roisin Murphy album though as I like one of the songs I've heard off it. Likewise, I was into the two or three songs I've heard from Soak but haven't listened to the album.

I have listened to Gaz Coombs album though and that will take some beating IMO. Better than his first album, which was very good.

Re: 2015 Mercury Prize
I'd pick Aphex Twin out of that lot but that's purely based on the fact I still have the vinyl of Digeridoo and love that track from back in the day. Some of his stuff is nicely fucked up,

Don't mind a bit of Ghostpoet in small doses.

The Aphex and Jxx get a lot of rotation when I'm driving. No idea about the others.

Saw C Duncan at Latitude. Sat cross legged , I nearly dozed off

Conversely stood down the front for Slaves at Standon Calling, got battered by teens

Re: 2015 Mercury Prize
Aphex Twin - Syro is an excellent album but in general the Mercury prize is wank.
